Job Description:

 

The Enfield Public Schools invites interested candidates to apply for the position of

Human Resources Director. This position has a significant role in the district.

 

The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications and will play an important role in coordinating the district’s staffing needs, supporting district employees, and working with the administrative team to keep the school district in compliance with state and federal employment laws and regulations.

 

Qualifications:

This candidate must hold 092 CT certification and possess related public school Human Resources experience.

 

Knowledge of public school district functions, human capital procedures and state requirements

  • Knowledge of certification(s) endorsements and application processes required by the state for certified positions.
  • Prepares and submits all state and federal reports relating to personnel function of the district including an annual accounting to the State Teacher Bureau of Certification (EDS Compliance Report)
  • Ensure and enforce compliance with all legal and regulatory compliance agencies as it relates to safety, labor, wage and hour and employment laws. Must actively support the commitment to a diverse employee base.
  • Conduct investigations related to employee complaints. Coordinate discipline and grievance hearings and have a thorough understanding of the collective bargaining agreements to advise and assist Administrators on the appropriate discipline policies and procedures.
  • The Human Resources Director will be the Title IX and Title VI coordinator in the district.
  • Experience in coordinating the recruitment and hiring of certified and non-certified staff. Participates in the initial orientation for all new employees, both certified and non-certified.
  • When necessary, the Human Resources Director may need to appear at hearings for: (Arbitrations, State Labor Board, Workman’s Compensation Unemployment).
  • Responsible for processing requests for Leaves of Absence, Family Medical Leaves, and Sabbatical Leaves.
  • Coordinate benefits administration programs for health, dental, life, retirement, workers compensation and unemployment claims, along with COBRA coverage.
  • Supervises clerical personnel assigned to the Human Resources Office
  • Performs other related duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Superintendent of Schools

 

 

 

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

This is a twelve-month non-affiliated position with a competitive salary and health benefits package. Performance will be evaluated annually by the Superintendent.
