Job Description: Enfield Public Schools is seeking a compassionate and skilled School Nurse to join our team. The ideal candidate will be committed to promoting the health and well-being of students, ensuring they are ready to learn and succeed in a safe and supportive environment.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct nursing care to students, including first aid, medication administration, and management of chronic health conditions.
- Develop and implement individualized health care plans for students with specific health needs.
- Conduct health screenings and assessments to identify and address health issues that may impact learning.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and healthcare providers to support students' health and educational needs.
- Maintain accurate health records and documentation in accordance with state and district policies.
- Promote health education and wellness initiatives within the school community.
- Respond to health emergencies and provide crisis intervention as needed.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal health regulations and guidelines.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) or an Associate's degree in Nursing (ADN) with relevant experience.
- Valid Connecticut nursing license.
- Certification in School Nursing preferred.
- Experience working with children and adolescents in a healthcare or educational setting.
- Strong knowledge of pediatric health, public health, and school health practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse school community.
