Job Description: Enfield Public Schools is seeking a compassionate and skilled School Nurse to join our team. The ideal candidate will be committed to promoting the health and well-being of students, ensuring they are ready to learn and succeed in a safe and supportive environment.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct nursing care to students, including first aid, medication administration, and management of chronic health conditions.
  • Develop and implement individualized health care plans for students with specific health needs.
  • Conduct health screenings and assessments to identify and address health issues that may impact learning.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and healthcare providers to support students' health and educational needs.
  • Maintain accurate health records and documentation in accordance with state and district policies.
  • Promote health education and wellness initiatives within the school community.
  • Respond to health emergencies and provide crisis intervention as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal health regulations and guidelines.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) or an Associate's degree in Nursing (ADN) with relevant experience.
  • Valid Connecticut nursing license.
  • Certification in School Nursing preferred.
  • Experience working with children and adolescents in a healthcare or educational setting.
  • Strong knowledge of pediatric health, public health, and school health practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse school community.
